Hoping for the best

Had problems getting to sleep last night and didn't fall asleep until after 0230, so the wakeup call at 0900 as a nasty surprise. Woke up in the shower, retrieved interview pants from the Kia, and dressed in the festive colors of our tribe before I headed out to get gas, brunch, and face time with my new handlers at the local Accountemps office. It took a little longer than I thought it would to make it from 395 to King Street Station, so I was a few minutes late to the interview, but it was all good since there were some other folks there ahead of me and I needed to fill out paperwork already. Not so much as I would have had to do if the locals hadn't been able to retrieve my file from the Minneapolis office, fortunately. The interview itself went well and the staffing manager I talked to seemed confident that they could get me into a job at $20/hour or more and possibly into a temp-to-hire position for around $40-50K, which would be awesome.

Refueled in Old Town, got a vehicle recharger for the phone, and headed back to the hotel for a little decompression and clothes changing before driving out here to Ashburn for a very late lunch/early dinner with P (preceded by a circumnavigation of Dulles due to dog rant) and some other bidness. Hopefully I'll be home and in bed before 2200 tonight, because I really need to check out some housing possibilities before the cash runs out.
