a few thoughts before the funeral

I'm leaving in a few minutes to attend the interment of one of our neighbors. I didn't know Mrs. Martin very well, in spite of dating one of her daughters (once) and didn't stay in touch with her or any of the other neighbors after moving to Minnesota. Most of them have died, moved away, or both since then, and I'm really going to this as Mom's proxy. All the same, it's the right thing to do, and I'm sorry to have not been here for the others.

The more I listen...

...to Front 242 and Front Line Assembly, the more convinced I am that I need to have their CDs. This is awesome stuff.

Read through the Wikipedia articles on V for Vendetta (the graphic novel and the film) and I can understand better why Alan Moore refused to be associated with the movie. As a condensation of the series, the film works moderately well; as an anti-W polemic, it's epic fail.
How'd the brothers W screw this one up? )

I'm sure there's something productive I could be doing this evening, but instead I think I'm going to play something fairly mindless and then go to bed early.
