Happy Nevada Day
Which was actually Friday, but whatever.
Weight dropped below 390, BG was almost normal, and BP was normal. I stayed up way too late reading the latest Kelly Turnbull novel, which read like a weird fusion of David Drake and Keith Laumer (Turnbull is very much a Laumer sort of protagonist, really) as the Big Bad was an expy of Sulla. So it was that I slept in until after 1300, and wound up not going out at all.
I fiddled with HOI4 as Brazil and eventually crushed the Paraguyan Communists; I am now building infrastructure and conducting espionage to weaken the Venezuelan Fascists while building up the Navy in anticipation of German U-boat attacks. Brazil in Vanilla HOI4 is not as interesting as it is in R56, since you're denied the options for Integralism and reunification with Portugal; you essentially get the generic minor nation focus tree and no unique events.
I finally took the tube of beef out of the fridge and threw it in the crockpot along with some onions, garlic, pepper, a few tablespoons of the Watkins chili powder, and most of the bag of dried Asian peppers that have been hiding on the top shelf. Tomorrow I'll go to Raley's and get some cumin, tortillas, beans, and more sour cream & shredded cheese.
I think I'll try to go to bed early so I can get up at a somewhat normal hour tomorrow.
