He needs to be put down like a mad dog.

I don't have a lot of time for the Nielsen-Haydens generally; they're not my kind of folks and I'm pretty sure (from the occasional posts of theirs I've read) that the reverse is true as well. But this kind of crap shouldn't happen to anyone. I've thought for a long time that Ralph Nader, Public Citizen, and the PIRGs needed to be taken down, and taken down hard, but up to this point they were doing too much "good" for the intelligentsia to be interested in that project. Well. Maybe now they'll take the advice of their more vindictive friends and unleash the lawyers on this asshole and his accomplices. Considering all that the man and his movement have done to this country, he should have been taken out and shot years ago, but I'll settle for having him bankrupted and driven out into the streets to die.

UPDATE: Jane Galt, or rather her commenters, has some appropriate remarks on the situation - and the completely irrational responses of some folks on the original Making Light post. Come on, people. A real fascist would have just shot you out of hand. Taking away your meds and waiting for you to die takes way too long and is totally lacking in visceral satisfaction...and the FDA decision has nothing to do with W in any case.

UPDATE II: Eric Raymond has more to say on this from the political angle. I don't agree that he's defending Nader, just pointing out the hypocrisy of folks who were happy to egg Nader on while he was bashing the Big Bad Corporations until their own ox got nailed. Via Instapundit.
