On my last week of summer vacation...
Just kidding. Though for the most part, I have been just fucking off and not doing anything but reading, eating, sleeping, and playing videogames since getting back from the Not-Balticon Excursion, as one can see by going back through my entries here.
I did re-up for next tax season, of course, and after some software annoyance, I did manage to book a (virtual) interview with my DM on July 15. By then I should have most of my CE already done; going to pay my $35 to Block Academy on Friday when my disability checks drop and get started on the AFTP, ethics, update classes, and whatever else I need to fill in my 18 hours.
Weight's been going up and down this week; currently it's a hair over 390 but I am being disciplined today and expect it'll be below that tomorrow. BP has been good, BG on the low end of nominal or even normal for the most part, so it's all good.
I beat Civ5 as the Mongols, notching two more game achievements despite the fact that the ground conditions were nothing even remotely like Mongolia. I'm trying to add Brazil to the list of achievements and so far so good. Haven't been doing much with F/GO's current event, since I already have BB and the chances of pulling Meltryllis are as bad as they ever are with these rate-ups. Ditto with Girls Frontline, where I need to improve my dolls before tackling the next set of maps, and Azur Lane, where the RN just isn't leveled up enough to handle the later stages in the current event.
Finished John C. Wright's anthology All Men Dream of Earthwomen, as well as his essay collection From Barsoom To Malacandra; aslo finished Pulp On Pulp, which is not so much a "how-to" book as a guide to dealing with various plotting & characterization problems one might encounter. Currently reading Stephen West's Airship City, which is an interesting dieselpunk alternate history dealing with Howard Hughes' giant flying city Aeropolis, and a young Londoner trying to discover the truth about his airship pilot father's death while trying to avoid being used as a pawn by people out to destroy Hughes and Aeropolis. It reads a lot like a Heinlein juvenile, to be honest.
Expect I'll go out and pick up stuff at the post office today, while trying to resist the temptation to swing by Raley's and get groceries I really don't need until Friday.
