Weight popped up to 393 this morning because of dietary stupidity last night, but the BG and BP were normal, so I'm not too worried about the extra pounds.
There was a lot to deal with in the e-mail this morning. I asked for (and got) permission to fill out the necessary forms for NSSAB when I'm in town Thursday morning; the office is in the building next to where the IRS office is, and they'll validate my parking, so that's handy. I can get up and check out of the Strat, fill out forms at the NSSAB office, and then go pick up my desktop en route to the NWPCC. At that point I can decide whether to stop at Walmart and/or Sam's Club or just head home. Also in the e-mail, an acknowledgement of my application to be an elections officer for the county, and a weird message through MHV about mental health services which I couldn't reply to.
The Falangist playthrough ended badly: on the one hand, I got East Prussia and some other territories after helping the Allies crush Germany, but unfortunately East Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Hungary all turned Communist, and they came after me in 1942. I was holding off the Soviets well enough in the east, but the Germans and Czechs ground away the southern & western defenses, and my lone tank corps wasn't enough to punch them all back. I am working through a Castle run right now and have gotten into a Romanian-led faction which may well be the death of me since they're ganging up on Greece, which joined the Allies, and since Sweden is also part of the Allies and is right across the Baltic...yeah, this may not end well.
I'm reading Cryptonomicon again. On a related topic, I got the proposal from the Plaza in the email today, and there are a few questions that came up while I was skimming through it. I'll give it a more careful read later, but I am leaning toward preferring the Plaza even though its room rates are higher because the initial costs are a lot lower than Palace Station's.
