Back to the polls

Weight was down to 390.8 yesterday and stayed there today. BG was nominal but low and BP has been normal. Go me. 

Bagged up some garbage, ran the dishwasher, and that was the extent of my constructive activity. The white/einkorn loaf I made in the robot turned out fine, a little fluffier than I prefer, but that's okay.

After I finished the daily blogging last night I went forth to Raley's mainly to get eggs & margarine (at $4/pound, butter is way too expensive for me any more) but also came home with a quart of milk and some Bad Things, most of which I ate last night. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have affected my weight, probably because I only ate two meals yesterday: eggs & bacon & sausage & taters for breakfast, and for dinner I had half a kielbasa with mixed veggies. 

The R56 mod for HOI4 has been flaky lately, but I got it working on the Dell box yesterday, and things are going moderately well so far. Missed the opportunity to become a German satellite, but I am thinking I'll have another chance, probably after I yield the east to the Soviets. Then we'll fuck them up in concert with the Nazis. 

Robot Ted Williams took one out of three from the Red Sox yesterday. It was much less painful than actually playing the games myself. I have a two-game series against Baltimore coming up on Monday, which is probably going to be a 0-2 series since we do very poorly against the birds. Guess I'll just set up Coleman and Marichal and hope for the best. 

The VA is trying to get vets to show up at the polls as poll workers, and since I was going to do that anyway, I contacted the fellow in charge of the county elections board and volunteered. I'll fill out the forms this weekend. Won't be a lot of money, but I enjoy the work, and it'll get me out of the apartment, which will be a Good Thing. 

Time to shave and hit the post office so I can pick up my long-awaited Snarky Tea package. 

Flip this, bitches

Blackwasp and his pal QueenGoldfield rolled up 95 late this afternoon and flipped everything north of the Muckers Mining Pick (inclusive) and threw a hideous number of fields off those portals and the cemetery. This irritated the fuck out of me, so around 2130 I saved my game of HOI4 and went forth. 

I burned everything down, making sure I cleared enough room in my inventory so I could glpyh hack the shit out of all the L6 portals they'd thoughtfully set up in place of the (mostly) L5s I had. I did flip the cemetery, as opposed to flipping and flagging the rest of them, and threw some fields of my own, so that when the new checkpoint rolls around at 0100 the score ought to be not so pretty for our froggy frenemies. 

Meanwhile, in Poland, I found out why it's a bad idea to let the Polish Falangists be in charge, because autarky sucks. On the other hand, I am making better progress building armored divisions, I did overrun Lithuania, and this time I intend to let the USSR have the eastern provinces. We'll take it back later.
