Mookie bugs out for Teheran.. So much for former Daddy DIRNSA's prediction that the surge would be nothing but epic fail. Guess the situation looked a little different from the boss Sadrist's point of view, eh General? It's not over 'til it's over, but it sure looks like the surge is having a very positive effect already. With any luck the lads and lasses in the Sandbox will have this thing wrapped up before those posturing fools in Congress get their do-nothing resolution voted on.
Cobb has a beatdown of the former spook's essay, but he was going with a nuts-and-bolts critique that demonstrated Odom's appalling ignorance regarding what our NATO "allies" in Europe were willing to do to help achieve peace in Iraq*.

*Apart from Britain, Australia, Korea and Denmark, that would be jack and shit over the long term. Spain couldn't even be arsed to leave their Foreign Legion there, and what's more expendable than a Foreign Legion, by definition? We've actually gotten more help from the former Warsaw Pact nations and former Soviet republics than we have from NATO. Go figure.
