Jews regain right to wear armour in Ireland as Irish Parliament takes steps to repeal outdated laws dating back to the 12th century, many of them imposed by the English. My question for the MPs would be, what the hell have you been doing since 1922, eh? Via Dave Kopel at the Volokh Conspiracy.

I'm not going to the Convergence concom meeting this afternoon. My leg hurts like hell, and if there's anything I really need to know, I'm sure danae or petsnakereggie will let me know. For now, I think I'm going to eat some lunch, or maybe a late breakfast, and get ready for the security meeting at 5. Yes, I'm going to hit the cuffs as well. As much as they pain me, I do like my legs and want to keep them a while, at least through the convention.

Don't laugh too hard, these laws are all over the place. one thing I learned in college when I was still pursuing a degree in law enforcement (before I discovered I couldn't be a cop since I had seizures) was that in the city of Minnetonka, thre is a ciy ordinance that makes it illegal to have sex with a goose.
And yes, this law was passed after they couldn't charge a guy because there was no such law on the books. *shudder*
