The banality of evil, 2007 edition
Ezra Levant, publisher of the defunct Canadian magazine Western Standard, has been called before the Alberta Human Rights Council to answer for publishing the "Mohammed cartoons" after a couple of Canadian Muslims filed complaints. His lawyer videotaped the proceedings, which are pretty instructive in the ways thoughtcrime is punished in Canada. Clips start here. Levant, BTW, isn't taking this lying down; despite the expense involved in fighting this particular branch of City Hall, he's not yielding an inch to the AHRC. You want to see real fascism, folks? Listen to what the nice bureaucrat from the AHRC asks him. Let her sort develop long enough, and you'll wind up with a fresh crop of O'Briens.
