Hello Bactrim my old friend

Well, as I suspected, what's been sapping my strength and reopening the hole in my right leg is a bacterial infection. Doc B prescribed Bactrim, which I picked up at the local Walmart along with some household essentials like half & half, and we're going to take another look at it next Friday.

So I'm going to try and get the rest of the living room cleaned out today in anticipation of the couch's arrival tonight, but I don't know how much use I'm going to be to RS and Kimbie this weekend. We'll see. The only other thing on the agenda is rescheduling all my fall classes at NVCC and giving them a check for the tuition and fees.

Why We Get Fat is a quick read, which makes sense since it's basically am abridged version of Good Calories, Bad Calories. If you're curious about the high-fat/low-carb diet and its benefits for weight control and diabetes prevention/control, you should absolutely read Why We Get Fat and then hit Good Calories, Bad Calories if you want more about how dieticians and other well-meaning sorts got off on the wrong foot completely.

When I got back from Afghanistan, I was around 125 lbs, which is a little less than I should weigh. Between June 21 and August 10, I gained 15 lbs, because I was eating four meals a day and not exercising. Now I'm working very, very hard to lose 10 lbs and the ONLY thing that helps is low-carb. Hell, I'm not even eating all that much fat either.

I guess I need to cut out fruit in order to do the really hard core weight loss, but aargh, I so hate to do that.
