2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

I'd vote for Rudy before I'd vote for Ron Paul or the Huckster, though. I want a politician that stays bought, damn it.

Also a lot of the lefties on my f-list seem to be getting high scores for Chris Dodd. What's the big attraction, guys & gals?

Chris Dodd

I've got no idea why he bubbled up. And since he's dropped out, hardly relevant at this point -- and he was never on my radar (though, since he dropped out so quickly, he wasn't on anyone elses). One of my complaints about that particular quiz is that it doesn't really tell you why you got the results you did. Really, the quiz is more like the ones asking what Firefly character you are like than being a truly useful political decision making tool for those reasons.

Indeed. It would be nice to have a poll out there that asked about more issues and had more nuanced answers. The notion that the immigration issue neatly splits people into "oh look, new citizens!" and "send 'em all home NOW!" camps is moronically simplistic, and that's just one of the issues.

It's an indication of how closely I'm following this that I didn't realize Chris Dodd was out already.

Yeah, I think they thought that the "How strongly do you feel about this?" score track was enough, but even then you need to know how they figured it out. Otherwise, it could easily be some Dodd-loving programmer. :)

I got Richardson.

I was okay with Richardson as a possible choice if somehow either Ron Paul or the Huckster got the nomination, but then he went and got all iggerant about Pakistan.

Well, no one really noticed that he was in to begin with.
