Adrift without an anchor

wombat_sochoI've been trying to get myself to take care of some things around the apartment that ought to be dealt with, like the sink full of dishes, the 3-4 various sized bags of garbage, and the various boxes of books that need to be unpacked, catalogued, and shelved...as soon as I remember to drop by Wal-Mart and pick up the shelves. That hasn't happened yet, and none of the other things have either. Probably the simplest explanation is that my head is still in Washington, and I just can't get focused on being here and doing things here, since I've just had a very powerful reminder of why I want to be there.
Still, these things need to be done, and I'd better tend to them tomorrow night instead of finding excuses to go out, spend money, and come home too late to deal with apartment stuff, which is what's been going on since Monday.
