The lattice crust is tougher than it looks, very easy to goof up. Mom was good with a lot of stuff but I don't recall her being at the top of her form with pie. Not that it mattered - all pie is good, only the lack of pie is bad. Sour cream raisin pie excepted, of course - that stuff is just gross!
