Work hard and you'll get what you deserve

The hotel meeting went pretty well, I guess. The Sheraton sales rep couldn't find our programming grid on the website, so I'm going to send her that; then we'll wait to see what the proposal looks like.
Didn't think I was going to make it to the meeting considering how I felt this morning. I was feverish and my legs felt like someone had set them on fire. The nurse at the clinic thinks it might be irritation from the Softsoap I use, but I don't know about that; they start hurting when I come out of the cuffs, so I'm inclined to think it's more like the pins and needles feeling you get after your arm or leg falls asleep. Only with burning pins and hot needles. Anyway, I felt bad enough that I went home at 12:45, ate lunch on the way home, and fell asleep for a two-hour nap before the meeting.
Now that I'm home I get to deal with all the bullshit drama that's erupted over the ATC Board voting. I'm not going to go into the details, but one of the current directors apparently is convinced that I'm rigging the vote, playing favorites, and implementing "completely unnecessary, pointless, very bad policies". All this from an attempt to introduce weighted voting for this one election so we can more easily sort out the 2-year directors from the 1-year directors. I'm convinced this particular director needs to pull his head out of his ass and quit being a passive-aggressive jerk, but there's not much I can do about that. It does grate on me, though, that over the last year nobody on the Board except
stuckintraffik and I even brought up the issue, and when we did there was general apathy. So here I am trying to be proactive, and I get Monday morning quarterbacked to death by this guy and accused of all kinds of BS into the bargain. I guess once again I'm having my face rubbed in the truth of Garrison Keillor's comment on politics: it forces you to associate with the kind of people that normally you'd cross the street to avoid.
I thought I left this sort of penny-ante political infighting crap behind when I gave up being an active member of the Republican Party. I should have known better. Well, I'm going to find that information, send it off to the Sheraton sales lady, and then I'm going to bed. The hell with it.
