According to the IRS (via MPR) this morning the average American spends 27 hours on their taxes every year. I'm one of those folks dragging down the average - spent an hour or so last night plodding through TurboTax and a couple of hours earlier in the year roughing things out. At the end of it all, I still owe money to Uncle Sam and Governator Jr., but not nearly as much as I had feared. Next year, though...next year is going to be rough. With
phoenixalpha presumably moving out this summer to her own place, I'll be filing single instead of head of household, which means I'm going to get nailed pretty hard. Nothing for it but to tweak the W-4 form and take fewer deductions, I guess.
