Who turned the sunrise on?

I wound up not going over to the Asylum last night for movies. After I stopped and got my prescriptions at Wal-Mart, driving to Robbinsdale seemed like an enormous effort for some reason (it was probably low blood sugar, in retrospect) so I wound up going out with
stuckintraffik and the lovely Mrs. S to see Hot Fuzz instead.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, last seen in the hilarious zombie send-up Shaun of the Dead, return for a spoof of pretty much every major police movie done in the last twenty years, only sideways and set in rural England. It starts with Constable Nick Angel, all-star member of the London Metropolitan Police being promoted to sergeant and shuffled off to the quiet vollage of Sandford so he'll stop making the rest of his MP colleagues look like slackers by comparison. Of course, if Sandford were really a quiet little village, it wouldn't be much of a movie, would it? Highly recommended; I don't think I've laughed this hard at a movie in years.
So...saw the movie, did some grocery shopping, went home and played EVE until about 0100, after which I went to sleep to the strains of the Root of All Evil...only to wake up at 0500 feeling pretty well rested. I spent the time playing EVE and puttering around moving my AMV collection to the external hard drive during downtime. I discovered the hard way that it's gotten too warm to run the laptop for several hours on the desk when it gave me a BSOD for the first time ever this morning. I now have it propped up against the old monitor with a 5-pound dumb bell, but that's just a temporary fix. I either need to get a real desktop box, a mini-tower to sit next to the desk, or one of those cooling boxes people use to keep their laptops from melting down all over their laps. We'll see.
No plans for today. I'm just going to kick back, browse through The New Bill James Historical Abstract (which is actually a couple of years old) and maybe take a nap.
