Date: 2008-09-08 04:21 am (UTC)Cheb and Cajones, while I disagree with them politically, are fun to be around. Emily and I have a small bit of history though, so her and I in the same room talking politics is a Very Bad Thing.
This pseudomanitou gentleman and I have been having mostly cordial back-and-forth under Cheb's MLK entry, but it's getting rather old because I feel like I'm having to educate him on a lot of the history behind people's positions. For example, he stated that he didn't know much about John McCain's background before 2000, other than is POW experience.
There are a lot of things that went on back in the '80s and '90s that go a long way to explaining why the political Right was leary of John McCain, and having to go through all that just to get a baseline for discussion gets tiresome.
