Spiderman 2 - five stars, two thumbs up. This movie reminded me why I love almost all of the Marvel superheroes while almost all of the DC heroes leave me cold...because the Marvel heroes are almost all ordinary guys who find themselves in the shit one day...week...month...lifetime, and rise to meet the challenge. [livejournal.com profile] chibitoaster, you rule for suggesting this movie!

Afterwards we grabbed some coffee at Caribou and hung out on a third-floor bench away from all the obnoxious music while we talked about AMVs and the hideous things that happen to rice and wheat and kaiju, and then we wandered out to her car and gossiped and talked about Anime Detour some more and finally realized that she'd forgotten the dealer's room paperwork from this year's con. Oops. Well, it was still a great evening and we agreed we were going to have to do this again Real Soon. There's a lot of good movies coming out, so this may get to be a regular thing. I hope. #^__^#

Ouch. The Twins got clobbered 12-3 by the Royals tonight, but fortunately the A's pounded on the White Sox, so they're still only a half-game back. The Phillies are a game ahead of the Braves and two ahead of the Fish, and I'm in fourth place despite all my outfielders (Baldelli & Crawford of the D-rays, Ford & Hunter of the Twinks) giving their bats a full week off for the All-Star break. Well, actually Crawford's hitting .368 over the last week, but he's not stealing any bases and he isn't driving in runs, so it's a pretty empty .368.

Meanwhile, my pitchers rule but I can't buy a win or a save. Arrrgh.

There are a bunch of them, this weekend and next weekend...a board meeting tomorrow followed by an AD concom meeting, which means that today I need to go out to the storage locker and swap the pillows in the back of the Kia for the Room Party Kit. I also need to rummage in the back of the Kia to find my most recent StippleAPA, because the collation's on the 31st and I need to get caught up on comments.

Sometime this weekend I need to do some work on the eFolio for my Technology in the Classroom class, get a binder together for the Special Needs class, and file my final report to the state Campaign Finance Board so they don't sic the Attorney General on me for failure to report.

Next weekend is David Buth's birthday party, which [livejournal.com profile] phoenixalpha and I have been invited to, though I may skip out early for the blogger bash at Keegan's since I don't know Mr. Buth all that well...and in addition to the StippleAPA collation, there's the CONvergence Volunteer Party on the 31st.

Plus there's all the usual eBayage, laundry, room cleaning, truck fueling, and other things to deal with. It's a busy life, considering that I don't have one, so how'd this all happen?
