Well, what do you know? The extra $300 and change in my bank account is from the Commonwealth, which finally got hold of Wells and revised my unemployment accordingly - I'm now good for $363/week, which means I need to go back and re-file for the handful of weeks where I was only working one or two days. All this time I was thinking it was my economic stimulus check. Anyway, I spent about a hundred bucks on new pants and shirts {guayaberas, P, get used to them ;)} and will have to think about what I'm going to do with the rest of it...probably leave it be, so that the rent check doesn't blow too huge a hole in the account if it hits before the Cardboard Box Fund liquidation check does. I also visited a couple of Sprint repair shops, who both agreed that the Katana just needed a new battery. Since I can't find the rechargers either (I'm sure they're SOMEWHERE around here, but who the hell knows where?) I bought a combo pack of rechargers and battery through Amazon.com for less than what Radio Shack wanted for just the battery.

In the meantime, work continues to go well, and my staffer informed me that they're asking for references, which will be tough since my last two employers have a policy of just acknowledging that I worked there. In the case of the construction company, this appears to be a recent development, but that's okay.
