verging on obsession

I'm beginning to think that A Meeting At Corvallis may be the best thing S.M. Stirling has written since he wrapped up the David Drake-plotted Raj Whitehall series with The Chosen. Certainly, nothing else he's written has gotten me to re-read and sample scenes so soon after finishing the book. Yum.

Can't help wondering (again) if Stirling is a miniatures devotee; some of the battle scenes make me want to get figures or counters out and start rolling dice. :)
