R.S. McCain (the one not running for President) lays the smackdown on David Frum for some Palin-related asshattery, and then slaps Ross Douthat around for pretending to be a conservative when he's really just a Democrat with a clean rap sheet and a pundit gig. He makes some good points in the latter post about W basically conceding the domestic issues to the Democrats with his "compassionate conservatism" shtick, and theorizes that without 9/11 Bush the Younger might have also been a one-term President. RTWT.

Ace does some deep thinking about the demise of the New York Sun and proposes a national conservative newspaper. One of the commenters already beat me to the punch by pointing at the Examiner. He also points out a Kansas City Star editorialist suffering from severe rectocranial inversion; said writer appears to believe that "socialist" is a Evil Rethuglican Code Word for "black". This is going to come as a surprise to Henry Wallace...also of note, Slublog thinks we've still got a shot, and after seeing stuff like the Joe the Plumber fiasco, Barney Frank yakking about how Congress needs to spend another metric assload of our money, Obama internal polls showing Pennsylvania within the margin of error (amazing how bitter those clingy rednecks can get, eh, Mad Jack?) I have to agree with him. It ain't over 'til it's over.

Finally, our friend RS has succumbed to the ObamaNation and come up with a poster of his own, worthy of the Peoples' Cube itself!
