CHEESE FRENZY
Dec. 30th, 2008 06:09 pmYeah, since this was the first day without Zyvox, I had a cheese omelet for breakfast and noticed that there was moisture in the bag of shredded cheese. Bad sign. I checked for mold, and there didn't seem to be any, so I resolved to use it up tonight. Which I did - it's grilled cheese & ham sandwiches with a large side of what would probably qualify as Quiche Lorraine if it had more eggs and less spinach...to say nothing of the total lack of pie crust. I don't care because it's topped with GLORIOUS CHEESE. Have I mentioned how much I missed cheese these last three weeks?
Stopped on the way home at the library and dropped off everything but Inversions, which I somehow missed this morning. I have a fair amount of fines, but not enough to keep me from checking out Amity Shlaes' The Forgotten Man, which is the "revisionist" history of the Great Depression that's causing all the fuss.
( Previous book fails )
Pandora gave me back Radio Free Baja Manitoba, and I was so pleased by this that I added Kid Rock and Gretchen Wilson to the mix. Have to say, I was pretty surprised to hear the Kid on the local country music station, which they were playing downstairs in the shop yesterday. Never thought of "All Summer Long" as country, but I don't make the playlists. Except on Pandora. Kind of. :)
