Saturday with the Mongols
May. 22nd, 2022 01:10 amAs I expected, after a day of taking all my meds, the water weight dropped off and I was back down to 390. BP was okay and BG was almost normal.
Pep Boys is okay with me dropping off the Kia on Tuesday morning to have the oil changed, the a/c & battery and tires checked out while I'm out east. Still have to make a hotel reservation for Monday.
Went to Raley's in the middle of doing the FMJRA, got some tea and cheese and eggs and cream and fig bars. Was going to get some keto-friendly ice cream but balked at paying $6 (on sale!) for a pint and instead paid half that for three times as much mocha almond fudge. I don't think my numbers are going to be pretty, but all I had for dinner was soup with bread and butter, so we'll see how the numbers look in the morning.
Futzed around with the Mongols in Civ5 for most of the day, ran the dishwasher, bagged up some garbage. One of these days (probably around June 3rd) I'll take it out.
Finished John C. Wright's Count To Infinity. That is one wild series of books; I don't think there's been anything done on that scale since Stapledon's Last and First Men, which isn't within light-years of Wright's six novels. The only other writer I can think of operating on anything like Wright's scale is Charles Stross, who doesn't go far enough.
