Saturday in the East Indies
Aug. 21st, 2022 03:29 pmWeight has been level yesterday and today, a few ounces on the wrong side of 390. BG had been descending toward normal but isn't there yet, and the BP is sorta kinda normal.
Despite stuffing the Netherlands full of colonial divisions and fortifications, the Germans rolled over it in 1939 and sent me into exile, where because I'd spent so much construction time on forts, I didn't have enough civ/mil factories to build the necessary ships and planes to keep the Japanese out of the Straits of Malacca or the Java Sea. Probably going to shut down the current game and try again tomorrow, because today I really need to knock out the AFSP exam and get ready to do the Small Business certification.
Stayed up way too late (to 0600) reading the first two books in Robert Kroese's Mammon trilogy, which is interesting and depressing all at once because on the one hand it's a classic SF yarn about very smart people doing heroic things IN SPACE, but on the other hand it's also about stupid politicians at every level of government driving the United States into the ground.
So I slept in until 1330, am just now finishing the "morning" meal with drugs, and will be stepping out in a few hours to deposit a check with NSB because the CCCU card isn't working any more, get some Mexican food, and pick up some more tea at the Raley's. Speaking of banks, Capitol One inexplicably increased my credit limit to $1500, which will come in handy for the drive to Vegas next month for a doctor's visit and the new tower computer, but on the other hand my credit rating is still crap because TransUnion still thinks I have student loans outstanding.
