French frustration
Aug. 25th, 2022 11:07 pmWeight was up, BG was on the (very) high end of nominal, but at least the BP was normal.
Woke up at at normal time (for me), got up with every intention of digging into the AFSP class, and found myself losing another outing with France again. There was a suggestion on r/HOI4 that instead of waiting for the Huns to invade, the French should just get off their asses and invade Germany using the Rhineland as a pretext. Well, that doesn't work any more - if you try it, the PCF plunges the country into civil war, and since you don't have enough reserves to crush the Reds, the Commune takes over and that's that. Next I tried fortifying the borders and the major towns, but that didn't work either. Giraud got cut off, pinned against the Channel and wiped out except for a few divisions, Huntziger got surrounded in Paris, and that was pretty much that. The French light tanks just aren't good enough to fight the Panzers, there aren't enough Chars B, and there's not enough time to build the Somuas before the Huns come across the border. Playing the Free French is boring, and I'm just about to give up on the historical France puzzle.
The Barbasol razors showed up today at the post office along with another bill from Intermountain Healthcare, which does not seem to have billed the VA like they were supposed to. I picked it all up on my way back from BK, where I indulged myself in a bacon cheeseburger, free Whopper, and extra onion rings.
I'm amusing myself by including memes from Taylor Swift for Fascist Europe in the daily link posts, much to the bewilderment of some of the commentariat, but all shall be made clear tomorrow, oh yes.
