Broke the losing streak
Aug. 30th, 2022 07:34 pmDid laundry last night and had fries with my steak at the Stage Stop, feasting on my Amazon pay. I should have had the baked potato instead of the fries.
Weight was up a little this morning, BG was nominal, and BP was normal.
Woke up way too early after waking up in the middle of the night; went through three blender bottles of water after retiring and was awake from 0300-0500. I ate some cheese around 0500 and promptly fell asleep...anyway, my series against the Yankees was at 1400 PST but I misread it as 1400 EST so I was up and barely functional at 1000. Had coffee and a flax muffin, set about another iteration with France. This time I strung out the fort building in between military factories, fuel silos, and AA installations, converted the DCR and cavalry divisions into DLM to simplify my efforts, and this time around didn't let the PCF into the government.
Lost the first game against the Yankees 4-5 thanks to an error by Cepeda which stuck Drabowsky with the loss. In the second game, Coleman started and held the Yankees to two runs (one earned) before being relieved by Romo, Gelnar, & Bryant, who eventually got the win in extra inning relief after Browne hit a pinch-hit homer in the eighth off Grzenda and McMullen hit a sac fly to score Unser in the 9th. The Yankees came back in the 11th on a single by Lindy McDaniel that scored Nettles, but in the bottom of the inning Hovley and Unser got on and McMullen struck again, hitting an RBI single to left to score both of them. 4-3 Senators. The third game started out well, with Marichal holding a 1-run lead into the 5th before giving up two runs. The roof fell in in the top of the 7th when Juan loaded the bases for a "tired" Thurman Munson. I brought in Hannan, who gave up a triple, two singles, a homer and a double before getting yanked for Bouton - who allowed two more runs (one of them thanks to a rare Brinkman error) before finally getting Fregosi out to end the inning. The Yankees picked up another three runs on a Hickman homer in the top of the 9th, and that was it.
The frogs did some damage and threw a BAF covering the town, but I'm too tired to deal with it. Going to have some fruit and yogurt and call it a night.
