A Good Day In New York
Oct. 11th, 2022 11:04 pmSurprisingly, my weight was actually down this morning. BG was nominal but BP was okay. I am surprised because instead of having a normal dinner late last night, instead I did throw the cake in the robot and I did open the ice cream, and had substantial quantities of both. I was up until about 0400 and slept in until after 1300.
So for breakfast I had a flax muffin, a large mug of coffee, and finished off the cake. Decided I should probably have something substantial for lunch before playing the Yankees, so I grilled up a ham and cheese sandwich using the multigrain bread from Raley's. (I have yet to finish cleaning the robot's pan of all the sticky cake stuff from yesterday.)
The series against the Yankees went very well. In the first game, Dobson went 6.2 innings for the win, Moe got the save, and it was a fairly exciting 4-1 game. Game 2 was a lot more exciting, and not in a good way - Joe Coleman went 6.1 innings but coughed up four runs; Bryant, Hannan, and Bouton added three more while our hitters managed to keep things tied through the 10th, when Bob Priddy blew the save and allowed Thurman Munson to tie it up with a single. Fortunately Willie came through and drove in Del Unser to make it 8-7, and Priddy managed to hold the Yankees scoreless in the bottom of the 11th. Another extra-innings Curly W! Unfortunately, in the third game we weren't so fortunate - I started Kaat instead of Marichal (who would have been pitching on short rest) and it did not go well. Jim gave up five runs (three earned) for his seventh loss, Bouton added another, and we couldn't get more than one run off Peters. The Twins are up next, and I doubt things will go as well, but one can hope.
Tomorrow I will avoid the video games and concentrate on my CE.
