The long drive back to Tonopah
Jan. 19th, 2024 11:59 pmWednesday I went down to Pahrump for the NSSAB meeting, dined on Sonic & Carl's Jr, and grabbed a few hours of sleep before heading off to the Las Vegas VA. I noodled about that and other stuff in this video.
As I said in the video, I was sufficiently tired on finally getting home that I blew off blogging and went to bed, where I slept for about 14 hours, with a short wakeful period around 1330. I did get caught up on the blogging today, putting up three posts full of links, but I didn't do much of anything else. Tomorrow I'll head over to Raley's and pick up some groceries, including some stuff on sale. More than I was originally planning to, since Elizabeth told me in e-mail that 1) they won't need me until 2/2, and 2) I'll be in the Dayton office. This makes me a little sad, because I'd gotten used to being in the Damonte Ranch office and knew the neighborhood pretty well, and now I have to figure out where all the stuff like laundry and food joints are in Carson City (where I'll most likely be staying) and Dayton (where the office is) are. To paraphrase the OP for the Sharpe series, though, the DM calls and I obey/Over the hills and far away.
I also need to mail some things out (like a past due Frontier bill) tomorrow, so since my stamps have gone missing again, I'll have to go to the post office.
Lots to do tomorrow (including laundry) so I should probably get my ass to bed.
