The wombat goes to Vegas

wombat_sochoHaving arrived in Sin City with Smitty yesterday just in time to liveblog the Presidential debate, I rediscovered the reasons why one does not do short-notice high-stress work without knowing your gear inside out. I still love the DeathPad dearly, but the combination of Google Docs and the wireless keyboard and my berserk determination to mix snark with transcription was not a happy one and didn't work well.
Vegas, on the other hand...wow. Mindblowing is an understatement. I'd like to come back again someday when I'm in better shape, financially and physically, and spend more time. I mean, I could spend days just chilling out on the Strip watching people go by, to say nothing of wandering around gawking at the casinos inside and out. Someday is not today, though; we must do some more Blog Stuff before catching a 1700 flight out to LAX and then the redeye back to IAD. At least I have music now.
