The LRT is a bad choice for me, actually, especially during winter. The doors open automatically (so why'd they bother putting switches in?) and the heaters can't keep up with the cold unless it's is packed like a cattle car. It also takes 45 minutes to get from the Sprawl to downtown because it stops every couple of minutes - the stations are four blocks apart in South Minneapolis, which is just asinine. I suspect that if they hadn't killed off the two bus routes that used to run out to the Sprawl from downtown (one express, one local) and rescheduled all the local buses to terminate at the LRT that it wouldn't be doing near as well as they claim it is.
