Catching up

wombat_sochoI spent a good part of the day catching up on blogging; in the middle, I went to Raley's and bought almost $75 worth of groceries for $48. Tea, electrolytes, tuna, taters (but no sweet potatoes, all they had were yams), grapes, and some breakfast sausage along with some starch components to eat with eggs & sausages.
I got to thinking about how I owe my renewed interest in baseball to the ex, and then I got to thinking about Shojo Kakumei Ukyo, which I started writing in early 2002 on alt.fan.utena and is still kept around on Eyrie.org thanks to a fortuitous mention of their NGE fanfic Neon Exodus Evangelion during Utena's flight to Japan. Or maybe they just liked it. Anyway, I had forgotten how much of SKU was therapy for the breakup of my marriage while I was coming out from under the psychiatric drugs that kept me sort-of-functional for a year or so while that stuff was going on. It's not a bad story, and certainly the longest piece of fiction I've ever done so far. I'd be tempted to file the serial numbers off and try to publish it, but it would be too much work. Doing that for Possession, if I can ever find the parts, will be hard enough.
