Slow Friday morning

As I expected,
danae and the other consuite heads agreed that I was too sick, lame and gimpy to be working as their subhead.
petsnakereggie still wants me on staff in some capacity, so we'll see what happens. I'd really like to work with
michaellee and
thaadd on programming, since I usually do a few panels every year anyway and am totally fascinated by the process, but it's not my call. More news if/when something happens.
The immigrationcompromise sellout is teh suck. A hopelessly Byzantine guest worker/naturalization process and the mere promise of an incomplete border fence, all to be run by these craptastic losers. If the House goes along with this piece of recycled shit from 1986 (for those of you scoring at home, that was the Reagan Amnesty, and we all saw how well that worked) then we deserve to lose Congress to the Democrats, because at that point, on that most important issue, there really will be nothing to distinguish the two parties from each other. At which point we can just go home and wait for the inevitable Islamofascist/irredentist victory.
Ursula Vernon has a remarkably concise summary of the whole Gospel of Judas stupidity by way of an analogy I frankly never thought of: the Gnostic Gospels as fanfic. More conventional/Catholic beatdowns from Professor Bainbridge, the Anchoress, and Hugh Hewitt, who links to some Protestant folks who don't care much for this "rediscovered" gospel either.
Last but not least, for those of you who like things that blow up real good, the Air Force is going to be testing "The Divine Strake" in Nevada pretty soon. I really like Yaakov Kirschen's take on it. "Did the Earth move for you too?" Indeed. ^^
