Enjoying my last day of privacy

This pretty much sums up my Sunday. With the exception of the maid, some chatter with folks on AIM and one commenter on
piratesrok's LJ, I've had zero interaction with other human beings today, and that's just fine with me since over the next two months or so I'm going to get all I can stand. And then some, probably.
Don't get me wrong - I love my family, but there's times when I just want to go to my room, close the door, and be left alone for a while, and when I move back to the ancestral digs in Forest Heights that's not going to be possible. For one thing, I'll be living in the same space I was in after my premature departure from Skycache about a decade ago: a roughly 6x10 space on the south end of the second floor. (My niece is on the north end, and she should be falling on her knees right about now to praise God that I'm capable of sleeping through artillery barrages, never mind teenage girls.) There's a bookshelf and computer stand there that P left when she was considering staying there. and a mattress which I imagine is the same one I was sleeping on back in '98, and not much else. Granted, with all that in there, where would I put anything else? So I'll basically be living out of my suitcase for a couple of months. At least Mom's not asking me for rent, which is good because between truck payment and various other debts, I don't have a lot of extra money to throw around.
So today I'm chilling out, playing Civicrack, reading blogs, and trying to watch what I eat. It's actually not that hard when you don't have anything particularly snacky around.
