What I want is irrelevant. We're all going to be spending 4-8 years in the barrel. I've paid attention to what the Democrats in Congress have been saying about their priorities, and the whole thing reminds me of 1976-1980 all over again, except Jimmy Carter actually disagreed with his allies in Congress now and then. I don't see Obama doing that; he has always been a go-along, get-along member of the Daley machine, and has never crossed the aisle to go against his party.

The only people who are going to be largely unaffected by the policies of the Obama Administration and the Democrat-controlled Congress are the extremely rich (Buffett, Soros, et al) who can afford more lawyers and accountants than the rest of us, and the extremely poor, who are going to have a brief improvement in their standard of living before inflation claws back the value from their "tax cuts".

Short version: I've seen this before. It doesn't work. Welcome to the suck.
