wombat_sochoWell, there's not a lot to be said about the McCain campaign's failure that hasn't been said elsewhere. Probably the best summation of the whole wretched mess is the other McCain's post here, which links to an equally good article.
So the time has come for agonizing reappraisal in the GOP ranks. Just about the only thing people seem to agree on is that the "Republican commentariat" (Noonan, Chris Buckley, et al) who turned on Palin and/or publicly backed Obama needs to be shunned, or at least ignored. Their advice got us into this mess, and nothing they say is likely to get us out of it. I suspect we're waiting for another Newt to come along, and it won't be a very long wait.
Felt like hammered shit all day today due to screwed-up sleep cycle, and got to take a vision range exam at the end of the day to boot. Weehu. Now I need to head over to Fox Way to do laundry, since I'm pretty close to broke. :(
