a year later

I don't really have anything insightful to say, but it's been a year since Mom died. I'm still not used to the idea that she's not just across the river or on the other end of the phone.

Last May 23rd marked 5 years for Mom and Dad. That exact feeling is still there...like I could pick up the phone and talk to them when I hear something on the news that I know they'd love, for example.
The pain recedes, but you never stop missing them.
