I'd take the combination of Lovecraft and Utena as a compliment, too, especially since I once called SKU "a season of Sailor Moon hijacked by Alfred Hitchcock and David Lynch." Lovecraft would be appropriated in that company.

Indeed, indeed. Come to think of it, there's an NGE/SKU crossover fanfic with heavy Cthulhu Mythos seasoning out there, possibly by Scott Jamison (SKJAM!)? It's been long enough since I had time/interest in Utena fanfic that I can't remember the title for sure.
