Went out today to return some books to the library and apply for work at a Dunkin' Donuts that will be opening soon in Foxchase.

Consider Phlebas
is the first Culture novel I ever read, and I was glad to see it in the local library. Depressing as fuck, but a good read nonetheless. Your homework assignment, should you decide to accept it: why do I still like Banks' Culture novels when I've pretty much given up on Harlan Ellison and would sell my entire unwanted inventory of Mr. Ellison's work for the price of an ice tea at DD?

I haven't read any Greg Bear in a long time, probably not since Blood Music, but Hull Zero Three
looked interesting.

I thought Agatha H. and the Airship City was an original graphic novel/side story to the Girl Genius webcomic, but it appears I am mistaken and it is actually a compilation of the first three GG collections. That's okay. Going back and retrieving those episodes from the website archives would be a pain in the ass anyway.

Put me down (in either sense of the phrase) as somebody who liked the rest of H. Beam Piper's Terro-Human Future History (particularly The Cosmic Computer) better than Little Fuzzy, but when I heard that John Scalzi had done a rewrite on the old classic, I thought I should give Fuzzy Nation
a look.

Don't know what to expect from Life, in Pictures: Autobiographical Stories, since I'm not all that familiar with Eisner's work. Guess we'll see.
