Maybe it wasn't a virus after all.

I don't know why it took me so long to realize that what's causing the problem is my left leg again - at least that's the one that's swollen and well above normal body temperature. Managed to get downtown, get the phone, and get back to the Thunderbird well in advance of the staff meeting, so I just chilled out on one of the couches and kept my leg elevated until it was time to get things going. I didn't say anything about it, but I think it was obvious to most people that I was feeling like crap...though I also think we've gotten to the point where people sound off with their updates and don't meander on for 15 minutes.
After the meeting
pkat and
phoenixalpha headed over to the IHOP with some other folks, but I wasn't really feeling up to it...eventually
redmartel shooed the remaining people out of the room and I went home, ate a pizza, and collapsed into bed to watch Road to Perdition.
That is one badass movie. Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law, and Daniel Craig in the thankless role of Connor Rooney all turn in great performances, as does Stanley Tucci as Frank Nitti. erhaps not the best of Spielberg's movies, but pretty damn good and very evocative of the early Depression.
I guess the plan for tomorrow is to call in sick and go see the doctor, get another course of antibiotics going. Here's hoping I don't need to spend another ten days on bedrest.
Being sick makes you stupid. That's the lesson for today.
