I can't believe it took me this long to figure out what was going on with my head, but there you are. Allergies. I picked up a 30-day pack of generic Claritin at the Wal-Mart yesterday along with the weekly load of bandages & gauze pads, and zingers - clear head within an hour. I was tempted to get the generic Claritin-D but decided not to; the hassle you have to put up with just to get the Sudafed isn't worth it, especially when that stuff screws up my blood sugar.

Aside from that, made the grocery run last night, crashed, and slept in until noon today. Breakfast and internet spaceships followed; spent the afternoon mining and shooting the occasional rat with my fellow wombat from Calgary, who's been in Italy the last week or so and is trying to get back into the swing of things. Time to get more stuff done, though; there's an immense pile of laundry that needs washing. It being Sunday night, that means a trip to the laundromat. This time I'm going to bring the TX and headphones; I am not in the mood for sappy romantic music this evening.

Army National Guard hits strength targets six months early.
"The strength of the Guard has been the amazing levels of retention among members of deployed units, surpassing all expectations," said Lt. Col. Diana Craun, the Army Guard’s deputy chief for strength maintenance.

"Retention is highest among units that have returned from deployments, and retention is an essential element in end strength," she added.

Not too surprising to me. People who think they're doing good work want to be in at the finish.
