Lies, damned lies, and politics

Apparently mplsvala wants to convince me (and, presumably, others) that we were all lied to about Iraq, W is EVIL, etc. This is wasted effort.

You can believe what you want to believe, but save your concern, okay? I don't just read the mainstream newspapers and I don't just read the right half of the blogosphere. The notion that I would undergo some kind of Damascene conversion if only I could see the truth is patronizing at best and insulting at worst. To paraphrase Lynyrd Skynyrd, if you want to talk politics, buddy, you just wastin' time.

Eighteen very dfferent innings

Good to see the Twins win one last night, especially with Bonser and Bartlett stepping it up.
Not so good to see that the Nationals are floundering. (Capitol Punishment)

At this point, I'm glad I took a year off from fantasy baseball. The stress would be making me even crazier than I am already.

About time, too

Apparently the Defense Department is going to form a civilian language corps. (NRO's Tank) I've long since resigned myself to the fact that I'm never going to finish my twenty, but it would be nice to put my skills to work for the Army again.

In other news, while the price is attractive, the Haband pants don't have a long enough inseam in my waist size, so I sent off to Draft Horse for a pair of the Dickies cargo pants. I did order the windbreaker, though.
