...but our DJ has an island. Appropriately for his gothic/metal sensibilities, it's an island in the Antarctic. What's the connection? The island's named for physicist Lloyd Berkner. Our DJ's father was involved with the ASA during the Cold War. Coincidence? I think not!

The assignment at UNCFSP got extended through next Friday, which is good since none of the people I interviewed with before I left or after I returned have called/e-mailed/whatever to let me know I have a permanent job with them. Also, the Commonwealth changed its mind and decided I didn't have enough income in 4th quarter 2007 to get unemployment. I'll probably appeal, but frankly, for $149 it hardly seems worth it.

The phone I won on eBay seems to have been sent to the Ramada after all, arriving on the third. Hopefully Kendra can track it down for me in her copious free time; I'd really like to go back to using a Katana again. The longer I use the Samsung the more irritating it is.
