The sweet taste of victory
Aug. 7th, 2022 12:12 amI did in fact go out last night and gas up the Kia, then buffed some of my portals since Niantic has graciously allowed us to double up on L8 resos, and also killed all of Blackwasp's fields that I could find anchors for downtown. I also had an ice cream sandwich and a couple of Moon Pies before bedtime. This accounted for the increase in weight and nominal (but low) BG this morning, but I have no explanation for the absurdly low BP. Well, I downed half a bottle of Gatorade and got my butt up.
Had a flax muffin and coffee for breakfast and nibbled on grapes for most of the afternoon while managing the RoC to a white peace with Japan, which brought us East Hebei, Manchuria, and a free Korea. The focus tree also brought me General Stilwell, who is not that impressive an army commander, but what the hell - he was free. Also got a license to build P-40s from the US, and I shall be using them to chastise whichever warlords are dumb enough to refuse to bend the knee in a few months when I finish that focus.
Remembered just in time that the (delayed) series with the Day Traders was due and logged in. Lost the first game, but Dierker outdueled Tom Seaver in the second game, and the bullpen & bench came through in the third game. Pat Kelly, who I acquired from the Pilots along with lefty Ron Bryant and a couple of draft picks in return for Frank Howard, did great work getting on base so that other folks could drive him in, and after losing the first game, Bryant came through in the third game.
The trash is still waiting to go out. Since I am thinking of making a grocery run tomorrow for tea and maybe a few other things (like sour cream, bacon bits, and other stuff that goes on potatoes) it can wait until then. I should also do laundry tomorrow. Not out of socks & underwear yet, but it wouldn't hurt to have some clean sheets.
