a change in the weather
Oct. 23rd, 2022 06:51 pmDespite (or because) I ate an entire cake yesterday, my weight dropped to a little over 390. BP was up a smidge, BG was nominal.
I fixed eggs, hash, toast, and sausage for breakfast, and it was probably the toast that pushed my dinnertime BG out of bounds. Guess I'll have some salad for dinner while I'm doing laundry tonight.
Stayed in all day today and yesterday, so it wasn't until this evening that I noticed the temperature had dropped to just above freezing. Guess it's a good thing I didn't leave my hat, gloves, and busman's jacket in the car. It's probably going to be equally chilly the rest of the week, which of course is when I start with the elections board. 0900 Monday, which means I have to be up around 0700 to make it there on time if I want to stop by the BK for second breakfast and fluids, which I do.
I quit the most recent Boreal simulation with the Romans because it was around 1920 AD and I was well back in the pack. Restarted with the Danes and so far it's going well. The Huns made the mistake of burning one of my towns to the ground; I have so far returned the favor and am about to level Attila's Court for his insolence. The HOI4 game is on hold for a while; the Tsarists have Siberia pretty much locked down and are grinding north from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan into the western regions of Kazakhstan. The Germans will probably pull out of Kazahstan before they get cut off, but I don't expect to have all of Kazakhstan back under control for a few more years. It's 1947 and nukes are already in play, but I don't have them. On the other hand, I have a shitload of fighters if the Nazis decide to nuke Chelyabinsk or something. But it's a grind, and grinds are boring. At least I have the satisfaction of knowing the Japanese won't stab me in the back; my navy in the Pacific has a shitload of submarines and destroyers, and we can really do a number on their convoys if they piss us off.
Off to Raley's to get tea, margarine, and $10 to do laundry with.
