The long road back to Tonopah
Nov. 10th, 2022 10:48 pmHaving sent my fingerprinting forms off to the FedEx by Fogo de Chao last night, I was able to clear my room by 1100, order a doughnut and coffee from Dunkin, and pick all that up before heading to the Omelet House via the '15. Then I got fingerprinted, met up with a fellow LVR agent to exchange keys, link amps, and a couple of ADAs, which I intend to use judiciously.
Then it was time to go home, with brief stops at Murphy's to fill the tank (at $4.60 after the discount, I would have been stupid not to) and Sam's Club for sushi, drugs, vitamins, eggs, and other stuff that it's nice to have around. No cream, unfortunately. Anyway, I loaded the cold stuff into an insulator bag and then got out of town. Did not stop at Indian Springs (for once) but I did pause at the Test Site portal and damaged it a lot. Stopped again at the Alien Rest Stop for fluids and trail mix (did drink the former, didn't eat the latter) and an attack on a frog portal, which burned nicely. Did some damage in Beatty, but not enough to drop any portals, links, or fields. Stopped again in Goldfield for a piss and to reinforce the Tourist Center portal, and that was all I did with Ingress. Maybe I'll go out tomorrow and do some more in between the blogging and the baseball.
Anyway, I dragged all the stuff in from the car (took two trips), scanned in the stuff from Sam's Club, and did the (severely overdue) links. Did not eat all the sushi.
The midterm elections keep dragging on in several places, including Nevada, and I am pretty much burned out on the whole thing for now. Nonetheless, the links must flow.
