The end of summer
Sep. 8th, 2023 12:08 amTraditionally that falls on Labor Day, though truth to tell there's not much difference between last week's temperatures and this week's. I did nothing special for Labor Day and in fact am trying to resist the temptation to spend money on eating out and crap from the internet.
What with withdrawals from Fidelity and the occasional membership, we have about $1800 in the Friends of Fission-chan account, with another $134 in PayPal. We owe the hotel $800 for function space rental, and shirts will cost about $600, so that will leave us $500 to pay for rooms, consuite supplies, and suchlike things. I may wind up putting the consuite supplies on my credit cards; much depends on whether we get a bunch of people showing up at the door. I have fired off emails in several directions and am hoping for the best. We'll be getting a Clover Go widget through NSB so that we can take card payments at the door, and I am also getting an NSB debit card so we can deposit checks & cash; there is an NSB branch at Eastern & St. Rose not far from the hotel.
Finished onboarding with H&R Block over the Labor Day weekend. Now I need to start grinding on my CE. I have plenty of time to do it; aside from the NSSB meeting on the 20th and a wound care appointment the following afternoon (and a couple of video appointments the following week) I have nothing on the schedule. All I need to do is pry myself away from the video games. I already booked rooms at the Strat, which has some insanely low rates in midweek.
The wounds are getting better; the one on my left leg is nearly healed, and the one on the right leg is a LOT better; the upper and left branches of the wound are healed up and the right branch is much shallower than it was a month ago.
