Everybody says this is a must-see. I'm not feeling it.

"TAKE THAT, MASTER RACE!" - Detour's original Chief of Security, reacting to the bombing scene from this, which was used in "AMV Hell".
24 Monster (2004)
25 Haibane Renmei (2002)
See Haruhi.
26 Planet ES (2003)
27 FLCL (2000) (FuriKuri)

32 Shingetsutan Tsukihime (2003) (Lunar Legend Tsukihime)
33 BECK (2004)
34 Mai HiME (2004)

I guess the Sifl & Olly parody AMV don't count, do they?
36 Rurouni Kenshin (1996)
37 Azumanga Daioh (2002)*
People compare this to "Peanuts", which is an insult to Azumanga Daioh.
38 Spirited Away (2001)
39 X TV (2001)
40 Trigun (1998)
This is another classic series I'd like to finish up sometime.

44 Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (2005)

46 Full Metal Panic! (2002)
I should really get the last two DVDs and watch them.
47 Princess Mononoke (1997)
48 Gunslinger Girl (2003)
This series is kind of creepy and I don't know if I want to finish it.
49 Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex 1st GIG (2002)
50 Uchuu no Stellvia (2003) (Stellvia of the Universe)
51 Hoshi no Koe (2002) (Voices of a Distant Star)
Most awesome one-shot anime EVER.
52 Chrno Crusade (2003)
53 Wolf's Rain (2003)
54 Read or Die (OVA)(2001)*
55 Cowboy Bebop - Knockin' on heaven's door (2001)
56 Gankutsuoh (2004)

58 Serial Experiments Lain (1998)
In a tight ongoing battle with NGE for Most Overrated Anime Ever.
59 Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (1998) (Kare Kano/His and Her Circumstances)
60 School Rumble (2004)
61 Princess Tutu (2002)
This series is full of win and awesome and horrible fail and I want to see the rest of it.
62 Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2001)
63 Jungle wa itsumo Hare nochi Guu (2001) (Haré+Guu)
64 Vandread 2 (2001)

66 Noir (2001)
Another on the "must finish this someday" list.
67 Boogiepop Phantom (2000)
68 Chobits (2002)
Everybody who's seen this swears it's super-cute. To me it sounds beyond creepy.
69 Kino no tabi ~the Beautiful World~ (2003) (Kino's Journey)
70 Seikai no Monshou (1999) (Crest of the Stars)
71 Infinite Ryvius (1999)
72 Saikano (2002)
OMG, Saikano. It's like a fifty-car slo-mo train wreck. You can't look away.
73 Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
Manga was a lot better, but this is still pretty good.
74 Genshiken (2004)
75 Maison Ikkoku (1986)
I started watching it during the divorce and couldn't finish. Maybe later.
76 Hachimitsu to Clover (2005) (Honey and Clover)
77 R.O.D -THE TV- (2003)
78 Witch Hunter Robin (2002)
This started out well and I hear it gets even better. The question is, does it live up to the VicBond007 Matrix trailers?
79 Card Captor Sakura (1998)*
I have no excuse for not finishing this.
80 Initial D - First Stage (1998)
81 Hellsing (2001)
82 Ghost in the Shell (1995)

89 Paranoia Agent (2004)
90 Koi Kaze (2004)
91 Golden Boy (1995)
92 Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986)*
One of Miyazaki's best movies, and my kids' first exposure to anime.
93 Rurouni Kenshin - Seisouhen (2001)
94 Inuyasha (2000)
Like Ranma 1/2, I've actually read more of the manga than I've watched the anime. Originally got interested in both thanks to a PS2 game in the staff lounge at Anime Iowa.
95 Kodomo no Omocha (1996)
96 Akira (1988)
That's two hours of my life I'll never get back. :(
97 Kannazuki no Miko (2004)
98 Tennis no Ohjisama (2001) (Prince of Tennis)
99 Kanon (2002)
This is supposed to be one of the inspirations for Megatokyo, but I'm ambivalent about whether I want to ake the effort to see it.
100 Maria-sama ga Miteru (2004)
The question isn't whether there's lesbian subtext in this series, it's whether there's ENOUGH lesbian subtext.
101 Fushigi Yuugi (1995)
I have tentatively noted this series as the one I'm going to finish when/if I ever retire. Because it's going to take a couple of years, I think.
102 Gravitation TV (2000)
103 Maho Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto (2003) (Someday's Dreamers)
104 D.C ~Da Capo~ (2003)
105 Mahoromatic (2001)*
This was an excellent start to what could have been one of the best anime series ever. Unfortunately, it was a Gainax production...
106 Kaleido Star (2003)
107 Outlaw Star (1998)
108 Evangelion: End of Evangelion (1997)
109 .hack//SIGN (2002)
110 Ergo Proxy (2006)
111 Ohran Koko Host Club (2006) (Ouran High School Host Club)
Saw enough of this at an AD staff meeting to convince me I don't need to see the rest. Not that I don't like drag comedy, but this just didn't click for me.
112 Aishiteruze Baby (2004)
113 Samurai 7 (2004)
114 CODE GEASS Hangyaku no Lelouch (2006) (Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion)
115 Hana Yori Dango (1996) (Boys over Flowers)
116 Yakitate!! Japan (2004)
117 Martian Successor Nadesico (1996)
118 Excel Saga (1999)*
Should buy and watch the rest of this.
119 Ranma 1/2 (1989)
Bought season 1 and the OVA, gave up on the anime after that.
120 Slam Dunk (1993)
121 Ayashi no Ceres (2000)*
Having seen the first half, I'm dithering about the second half.
122 Yu Yu Hakusho (1992)
123 Kumo no Muko, Yakusoku no basho (2004) (The Place Promised in Our Early Days)
124 Ai Mai Mi ! Strawberry Eggs (2001)
I'm worried that the OVA won't live up to the "Simply Irresistible" AMV.
125 Tenshi na Konamaiki (2002) (Cheeky Angel)
126 Kimagure Orange Road TV (1987)
127 CLAYMORE (2007)
128 Mahoromatic TV 2 (2002)
Saved from watching the horrible end of this by SDB and others. CURSE YOU, GAINAX! CURSE YOU!!! **SHAKES FIST**
129 Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer (2001) (Angelic Layer)
Never finished this; developed an intense hatred for the protagonist's mother and couldn't go on to the end. All the best parts are in the "Metal Gear Solid" AMV anyway. ;)
130 Ultra Maniac TV (2003)
131 Love Hina (2000)
This is one of the archetypal harem comedies which (like Friends and Seinfeld) I never thought was funny. And the more I saw of it in AMVs, the less I liked it.
132 Onegai Twins (2003) (Please Twins!)
133 Paradise Kiss (2005)
134 Millennium Actress (2001)
135 Pita Ten (2002)
136 TEXHNOLYZE (2003)
137 Revolutionary Girl Utena (1997)*
BEST. ANIME. EVER.
138 Jin-Roh, The Wolf Brigade (2000)*
Almost as good as Utena. I would have liked to have seen all the "Kerberos: Panzer Cops" manga done as a long series sequel to this, but Oshii decided to do the other two-thirds of the "Stray Dogs" trilogy as live-action movies. vOv
139 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (2006)
140 Slayers, The (1995)
I may actually have seen the whole run of this, but I get confused between the different series.
141 AA! Megami Sama (1993) (Oh My Goddess!)
Like Tenchi, this is cute without being sappy and a harem comedy without the obligatory domestic violence. Which is why the movie hits so hard.
142 Shaman King (2001)
143 D.N Angel (2003)
144 Matantei Loki - Ragnarok (2003)
145 Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai (2002) (Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi)
146 GANTZ (2004)
Saw the first couple of episodes at a Detour staff meeting. NOT going to watch the rest, thank you very much.
147 Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)*
The other Miyazaki movie that got my kids into anime.
148 Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (2005)
149 Suzuka (2005)
150 AA! Megami Sama: The Movie (2000) (Ah! My Goddess)
This was so awesome. Reminds me, in a way, of Tenchi Forever.
151 .hack//Legend of Twilight Bracelet (2003)
152 MADLAX (2004)
153 Tokyo Underground (2002)
154 Trinity Blood (2005)
I have mixed feelings about this series. On the one hand, Greg Ayres voicing the Pope. On the other hand, another ultra-violent vampire anime.
155 Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004)
156 Peace Maker Kurogane (2003)
157 Sokyu No Fafner (2004) (Fafner in the Azure)
158 Gundam Wing (1995)
Not sure if the AMVs really count here...
159 Howl no Ugoku Shiro (2004) (Howl's Moving Castle)
160 REC (2006)
161 Rozen Maiden (2004)
...desu...
162 Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle (2005)
163 Piano (2002)
164 Gundam SEED Destiny (2004)
165 Yami no Matsuei (2000)
166 DearS (2004)
167 Shakugan no Shana (2005)
168 Gunparade March - Arata Naru Ko Gunka (2003)
Formulaic and crappy; won't be finishing this one either.
169 NARUTARU (2003)
170 Green Green TV (2003)
171 Love Hina Christmas Special (2000)
172 Ninja Scroll (1993)
BAD ASS.
173 Appleseed Movie (2004)
174 SHUFFLE! (2005)
175 Happy Lesson TV (2002)
176 Record of Lodoss War OVA (1990)
177 Escaflowne - The Movie (2000)
178 Perfect Blue (1997)
179 Fate/stay night (2006)
180 To Heart (1999)
181 Tenjou Tenge (2004)
182 Chikyu Shojo Arjuna (2001) (Earth Maiden Arjuna)
183 Boys Be (2000)
184 Blood: The Last Vampire (2000)
185 Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ (2003)*
Like the first season, I have no excuse for not watching this.
186 Alien Nine (2001)
187 Grenadier - Hohoemi no Senshi - (2004) (Grenadier- The Senshi of Smiles)
188 Dragon Ball (1986)
189 E's Otherwise (2003)
190 Love Hina OVA (2002) (Love Hina Again)
191 Prince of Darkness (1998)
192 Dragon Ball Z (1989)
193 Kono Minikuku Mo Utsukushii Sekai (2004) (This Ugly Yet Beautiful World)
194 Ichigo 100% (2005)
195 Flame of Recca (1997)
196 Ikkitousen (2003)
The "Can't Touch This" AMV for this is hilariously good, and there's a Carrie Savage story involved that makes it EVEN BETTER.
197 Samurai Deeper Kyo (2002)
198 Kite (1998)
Brrrrr.
199 Girls Bravo First Season (2004)
200 Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (2005)
One and done, as the saying goes. What is it with the Master Race and tsundere, anyway?

According to a very similar meme I posted last year, I've watched a lot more anime than you have.

That really wouldn't take much, you know. To be honest, I didn't really become an anime fan until the late 1990s, when I was introduced to Miyazaki's work via Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Service; I was also shown clips of Gunsmith Cats and Dragon Half. The kids and I consumed anime voraciously from then until we got involved with Anime Detour in 2003, and after that there was just no damn time. I haven't really kept up with the medium since Haruhi-ism swept though fandom, although friends of mine have gone all gaga (or maybe even [Lady] Gaga) over Axis Powers: Hetalia. The girls do love them some yaoi, don't they? About the only anime I've watched in the last couple of years has been Trigun, Yawara! and, um...I think I rewatched some Azumanga Daioh and APCCG Nuku^2 last year. I can't think why else the cases would be on my nightstand.

This and my complete disinterest in cosplay made my involvement in launching, much less chairing, one of the larger fan-run anime conventions in the Upper Midwest pretty ironic by some folks' lights.

It is quite the random list, isn't it?

I wonder if we saw Jin-Roh at the Suburban World at the same time, since I also saw it an an animation festival there.
