cyloran's request. Why mango cream smoothies?
Because mangoes and cream and I go way back. Maybe even before Chef's fantasy in Apocalypse Now.
Also, because this has a fairly low carb count, and these days, that's important to me.
In a blender, combine 2 oz. heavy cream (you can use whipping cream, but heavy cream is better)
1 scoop vanilla-flavored whey protein (I use Body Fortress brand from Walmart, but I don't think it really matters)
6 oz. unflavored unsweetened almond milk
2 oz. raw mango, chopped. This is about 1/4 small mango, maybe 1/6 or 1/8 of a large one.
4-6 ice cubes
Run the blender until the ice cubes have been reduced to little bitty ice particles. Drink.
If you have a problem with almond milk and don't care about carbs, you can substitute regular milk or even MOAR CREAM.
There isn't that much mango in this because the mango is there mainly as a flavoring agent; those things are loaded with fructose, which I'm trying to stay away from.
