In the land of falafel and shawarma

wombat_sochoIt may be Cinco de Mayo, but I'm not Mexican, and besides there's a perfectly decent Mexican joint in Tonopah, so there's no point in driving 3.5 hours to have tacos, burritos, or any of that noise, when there's plenty of stuff in Vegas that I can't get back home.
Finally got packed up and left Tonopah around 1400 after dropping off the rent check and stopping briefly at Raley's for chicken salad sandwiches, tea, and Gatorade. About the only noteworthy things about the drive were road destruction between Beatty & Amargosa Springs, and the Arco on Beatty being closed - well, the pumps were open, but the store & latrines weren't. Okay, the ambient temperature got high enough for me to turn on the a/c in Beatty, but I still got around 38 mpg despite the road work.
Got into the Best Western around 1800, hauled all my stuff (pack, nose hose, & insulin box) inside, and put my feet up for a bit before ordering the aforementioned falafel & shawirma from Uber Eats. I should have either ordered another pita or less tahini. Anyway, they didn't fuck up the order this time, and it was all tasty, so it was worth not having to go out again.
Dentist's office called to see if I could show up at 0800 instead of 0930, and since I have nothing else going on I agreed. Guess I better crash a little earlier than usual.
